Scrapco Red Lodge, one of the largest and most professional Authorised Treatment Facilities (ATFs) in the South East, has recently made a significant investment in a comprehensive range of depollution equipment from Green Car Depollution. The upgrade reflects the company’s commitment to scaling its operations while maintaining high standards of efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility.
Scaling Operations at Scrapco Red Lodge
Operating from a busy vehicle and metal recycling site, Scrapco already processes an impressive 1,000 end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) per month. With ambitious plans to at least double this throughput, the business recognised the need to further modernise and expand its existing strong capabilities.
The newly installed equipment has been carefully selected to support this growth. Alongside an already extensive range of Green Car Depollution systems, Scrapco has introduced four additional ‘All-In-One’ fluid recovery units. These systems streamline the extraction of fuels and fluids, significantly increasing processing speed while ensuring compliance with ELV regulations.

The company has also invested in XL Vehicle Preparation Side Tips, designed to simplify the removal of high-value components and facilitate engine drops from ELVs and light commercial vehicles. Together, these additions will enable Scrapco to handle increased volumes in a cleaner, safer, and more controlled manner.
The Broader Impact of Upgrades at Scrapco Red Lodge
Beyond operational efficiency, the benefit of this equipment is wide-ranging. The new systems are designed to:
- Accelerate ELV processing times
- Enable the separation of contaminated fuel, allowing clean fuel to be recovered for reuse and delivering a tangible return on investment
- Provide a safer, cleaner working environment for staff
- Minimise environmental risks by preventing hazardous contamination
- Maximise the recovery of fluids and components for reuse, recycling, or resale
Ben, Head of ELV at Scrapco Red Lodge, commented:
“The new equipment takes a lot of pressure off both me and the team. Having multiple depollution rigs in place will speed up the entire process, from depollution through to dismantling. The systems are modern and easy to use, and we’re really looking forward to getting fully up and running.”

Looking ahead, Scrapco is also preparing for the evolving vehicle landscape. As part of the investment, the company has introduced the All Inclus-EV system, designed to safely process electric vehicles (EVs), hybrids, as well as internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. This has been paired with an EV/Hybrid battery table and winch system, designed to make battery removal and handling significantly safer and more efficient.
Terry Hunn, owner of Scrapco Red Lodge, emphasised the importance of future-proofing the business:

“Over the next five to seven years, we expect to see a significant increase in electric and hybrid ELVs coming through. We want to be ready for that shift and ensure we have the right equipment and processes in place.”
With this latest investment, Scrapco is positioning itself for continued expansion and is actively seeking to grow its contractual business. The company is confident that its enhanced capabilities will enable it to deliver greater throughput and increased product and value to both existing and new customers.
A Strong Partnership: Scrapco Red Lodge and Green Car Depollution
Green Car Depollution, who have maintained a long-standing relationship with Scrapco, are proud to be playing a role in supporting this upgrade. Reflecting on the partnership, Owner of Scrapco Red Lodge, Terry Hunn added:
“Green Car Depollution consistently delivers impeccable customer service. As family-run businesses, we share similar values, and it’s refreshing to work with people rather than a large corporate entity. Their equipment offers excellent value for money and does exactly what it’s designed to do.”

Olivia Hutchins, owner of Green Car Depollution responded:
“From Green Car Depollution’s perspective, this project reflects exactly what strong customer partnerships should look like. Working closely with Scrapco Red Lodge, the focus was on delivering equipment that not only supports immediate operational growth but also prepares the business for the long-term shift toward electric and hybrid vehicles. Scrapco’s forward-thinking approach and commitment to best practice made this a particularly rewarding installation to deliver.”
As Scrapco Red Lodge continues to expand its operations and adapt to the changing demands of the industry, this equipment installation marks a significant step forward. The coming months and years promise to be an exciting period of growth—one to watch closely!
